About Our El Paso County Service
The El Paso County Criminal Justice Center in Colorado Springs is one of Colorado's largest detention facilities. Its size means intake and release can sometimes take longer than smaller jails, so starting the bond process early matters. The 4th Judicial District Court covers El Paso and Teller counties. First appearances happen every weekday for in-custody defendants. Most misdemeanor and traffic cases are handled out of the Colorado Springs courthouse; some special cases (drug court, mental health court) have their own tracks.
